Competition for a Cause

    Even before the 1st Annual Public Interest Law Week Trivia Bowl started, “the anticipation was high. [Everyone] spent their free time watching TMZ and browsing Perez Hilton’s blog,” said Doug Baek, PILC President.
    Twenty teams of students, faculty, and staff fought hard to out-answer their opponents through lightening-fast rounds. A few broken buzzers later, Moot Court took the top prize – a trophy and a catered lunch from Milano’s .
    The good-spirited competition raised $1100, thanks to each team’s $50 entry fee and Moot Court’s generous donation of the value of their lunch prize.
    While the Trivia Bowl has come and gone, its effects still linger. Just the other day, Professor Miller lamented, “I can’t believe Paris Hilton was not the answer.” It’s okay, Professor. If PILC VP Fritz Javellena has it his way, you can try again next year.
    “This was a brand new event. [The Trivia Bowl] exceeded all my expectations and will only become more popular in the years to come," said Fritz.
    Doug agrees, “I really hope this event will become a new tradition at Southwestern.”
